'Jealous / Git Buck' is out Wednesday 17th June. DJ Spanish Fly is widely recognised as the Godfather of Memphis rap. Through the 1980s and 90s, his raw, bass-heavy tapes travelled hand-to-hand across Tennessee and the South, helping define the city's street sound years before the industry noticed. Future stars including DJ Paul, Juicy J and DJ Squeeky studied his tapes and production techniques. Over the last decade, a new global audience has rediscovered him through tastemakers including Legowelt, Crystallmess, PAN and Kiko Kostadinov. He holds a monthly residency on NTS Radio, and Boiler Room hosted his debut European show at Primavera Festival in 2024. His place in hip-hop history has been further cemented by champions like A$AP Rocky and his appearance in Netflix's Hip-Hop Evolution (2016). He continues to perform worldwide, from Memphis clubs and underground rap events to MoMA PS1 and Bourse de Commerce in Paris.

In French, Auder's second language, "vigil" means a guard or a watcher, sharpening the question at the heart of Whole World As Vigil: what will we do when we know the world is watching? Its lyrics read as theses to live by, from the belief-into-action of "praxis" to the steadfast love song "yes," ending on "orchards" (the potential for change) and "say nothing" (the possibility that it will be good). Auder's baroque pop fuses classical, post-rock and experimental elements with generational discontent, following her acclaimed 2023 debut the infinite spine and collaborations with Caroline Polachek, Clams Casino, Danny L Harle and others.

deathcrash's third album, Somersaults, glimmers with an everyday euphoria. Recorded between the Loire Valley and Haggerston, the London slowcore/post-rock quartet's follow-up to Return (2022) and Less (2023) is their most vocal-led and almost joyful record yet. Lyrics resist revelation, half-swallowed and consumed by the smaller textures of living, while the band, caretakers of the Duster, Low and Codeine lineage, pair narcotic crawls and cathartic builds with tenderness. Even the silence feels collaborative: friends making room for each other's ghosts, in some of the biggest, brightest songs they've made.
